Infrared Stereo Photography
I have noticed several members of this list saying that they are interested in stereo photography, including a message from Stephen O'Neill
who said the following:
>My speciality is stereo photography ( I see from the mails that I not the
>only one ).
>I photograph a variety of subjects including Infrared & available
>light.Since I usually take slides, how nice it would be to have a black &
>white infrared slide film !
I also specialize in stereo photography, making about 50% of my images with Konica 120 IR film. I can appreciate Stephen's problem since most
people doing stereo photography use 35mm color slides. Although monochrome slides can be made either directly by reversal processing (one can
do this with just about any black and white film), or from negative to positive either by contact or in a camera (as with slide duplicating),
I have chosen to use the antique format of 3.5 x 7 inch stereo cards. I have been making them for the past 10 years and using IR film
extensively for the past 7 years.
For those who would like to see a set of stereo cards made with infrared film (the subject matter is landscape), I have put together a group
of 20 of them along with a compact viewer. If there is any interest I will send them out next week starting with the first person who sends me
his/her address. I will then have that person send them on to the next person.
