Hello All -
I have been reading with interest the thread on
Digital Cameras. I just bought a Sony DSC-F505 - mostly because of the Zeiss
lens it sports. Without changing any of the automatic sensors on the cam, I put
a #25 RED filter over the lens.
The results were not impressive, since the CCD
recorded all results as a reddish tone. Changing the Cam to the B&W settings
only didn't make much difference.
I then took a Kodak Wratten Gel 87C filter and
built a little holder for it. Placing this in front of the lens was much better.
The CCD was IR sensitive, with the LCD showing the image immediately. I
shot a few pics in strong outdoor light (not real warm here in NJ) and the image
is dark but there.
After coming in I ran the images through Adobe
Photoshop and Microsoft Photo Editor. By adjusting the balance (autobalance
provided a great starting point) the images are really quite good! A little work
to be done on testing the focus and maybe changing a few of the exposure
settings, but i think this cam is going to work just fine! Going to look for a
glass 87C filter - since the CAM accepts 52mm lens filters.
Wish I had a web site up to show some of the pics -
but that to will be coming. Any one trying the same, I'd love to see the
results
