Dear Stan,
Rollands post on the light traps was excellent and very useful.
It's good that you have contacted Kodak to let them know about the light
seal issues. Perhaps we should be a little wary of contacting Kodak en
masse with requests for light trap felt material changes.
It seems to me that the final result of a number of negative comments to
Kodak about HSI 4x5 from various users and parts of the world was to make
Kodak review their production of the film. The result, as most are aware,
was an announcement by Kodak that the HSI 4x5 sheet film is discontinued.
Yes we should make companies aware of potential improvements for their
products, however HIE cannot make much of a profit for Kodak. Perhaps some
positive comments to Kodak from a few people who enjoy using the film would
also be a good idea.
