It must also be the experience living there. I've shot in the winter here
(East Coast of the US) and it has really been no big deal. There are some
areas on the Eastern Shore of Maryland that lend themselves to this, but
summertime is when EVERYONE can get their fill of IR, which is why my
suggestion is for people unaccustomed to the film to get their start at that
time.
