Randy I am retired now and I now only work at what I want. No more clients to please or dead lines to meet. I now work only B@x and print Platinum@xxxxxxxxxx Ilford is a dream for us who work in B@xx If I need info I get it from Ilford. I work 2 days a week for The New -York Histoical Society printing very old negs from there collection. The first thing I did I went to Ilford paper.
This thing has been about infrared but Kodak as stoped making so many fine film and paper. They at times allso increase the cost of things so high on some things. copy film and dupe film. So you stop using it or look for anouther supplier. I rember when had the big store on west 40th st 5@x ave. A place where I had a acct there no plastic in those days. They were there to help you if you needed somthing and not in stock they had it the next day. Why was Ilford not at the expo this past fall? It ws a bad show if digatel was no your thing. Take care James Romeo

To James - Thanks for your kind words. Its nice to know that Ilford's
efforts are appreciated. Bear in mind that Ilford is many times smaller than
Kodak--so sometimes we can take advantage of small market niches that
wouldn't interest the big guys. OTOH, Ilford's management is very cautious
with new products as we cannot afford to introduce something like a disc
camera, only to have an expensive flop. So, for example, SFX film (which I
know everybody loves) is just a product Ilford was already selling for a
different purpose--traffic surveilance.

Having come to EK's defense, I will say that their bureaucracy drives me nuts
(this guy says the film's discontinued; this guy says its not; this guy
says no comment, etc...). I'm not saying that Ilford is always 100% candid
with customers but I'm amazed at the number of things people speculate about
when they could just ask us and we would tell them.

Randy
