Yep. The halos I had in mind are on backlit scenes that I exposed for
midgray shadows. The lightes part of these pics may well have been quite
"overexposed"... Nevertheless it's a nice effect. I hope I can put some
of the images on my web page soon, but the series is not completed
yet...

Just had a look at some of my MACO negs. Couldn't find anything unusual
about their base side. It looks glossy like on any other 35mm bw film.
However, I remember that I had some problems washing away the anti-halo
layer (really an odd feature !) of my very first test roll. There was
something on the base side, that partially peeled off as I tried to
remove parts of the film that stuck together. Maybe the UGL (unknown
gelatine layer) sonsists of remains of the anti-halo coating ?
BTW, I'm still not sure whether I like this MACO stuff or not. I'm not
too pleased with what I've seen so far. However, to see what the film
really does, I need "real" IR conditions (why aren't there any green
leaves in winter ?????).
