IR and flash

I was planning to take flash pictures with Konica 750. Would there be an
advantage to putting a red filter over the flash or should it be over
the lens over the lens? What would happen if I put a filter over both
flash and lens? I know the picture would be easier to compose if there
is no filter over the lens. Could someone point out a web site with
night flash examples?
