I wouldn't recommend this with a 3000 Ws studio flash unit either.
But for something small, like (say) a metz 45 you'd be OK. Unless maybe
you've got a 12V gel cell attached to it, and you're doing IR light
painting!

And how have you done this with pinhole? Did you mount the 5x4 filter
directly over the film?
