A cheap IR filter to place over your flash can be made from a piece of
E6 5x4 film unexposed and developed. This is visually opaque, but
transmits IR quite well. And it's a lot cheaper than an equivalent 87
filter.>>>>>>>
Besides not too many IR shooters
have unexposed 4x5 sheets of E6 film around, and not too many labs even
process the stuff. You might spend an hour calling/driving around trying to
get some free E-6 film scraps. Unexposed & developed E-6 will work, but
you'll loose some light output. Be sure to allow at least an inch of space
inbetween the gel and the flash head to disappate the heat.
------------
To the group,
If anyone wants to test a sheet or two of unexposed E6, Email me with your
snailmail address.
