The following is all personal opinion and can be ignored as such ;-)

 From a web design point of view there are many things that you can do to 
speed up the downloading of your site by doing more image splicing if you 
really must design the entire site in Fireworks. You have several repeated 
elements that could be reused for each section rather than downloading one 
large JPEG image for each page.

If you do design a page that is best viewed at 1024x768 then why not make 
it fit within one screen. At 800 pixels high you still have to scroll down, 
so it's actually designed for a higher resolution monitor.

Apart from that it's a nice looking site with simple navigation. You might 
also find that people will want to find out a little bit more about the 
places you have photographed and a short text description will prove popular.

You have some good images there although some of the landscapes are a 
little flat for my liking, lacking a good white which would lift the images 
immensely and the close ups could use a little more attention to lighting.

A promising start  :)
