Yes, it's a fine all manual camera w/in its design parameters.
You can just cut a piece of the matte black backing paper from
some 120 roll film and use scotch tape to stretch it across the
pressure plate on the back. The trick is to not have it too loose,
nor so snug as to fully compress the pressure plate - somewhere
"snug", yet still allowing for normal plate compression when the
back is closed.
I have just erred to the safe side, but there are those who find
dimpled pressure plates to not be a problem w/ HIE. I suspect that
any deliterious effect would become more apparent using opaque to
normal light filters than just a regular red #25
