Using digital to translate a chrome is much like taking a picture of a
picture. That is what you get when you make an interneg.

Isn't this one of the very few applications where digital offers a
perfect solution, better than all-chemical? Not without a
drumscanner of course (very high Dmax is the key element here), but
more and more printers can print straight from digital input to
chemical paper (thereby avoiding the argument of less durable
prints)....and nothing is better manageable in digital manipulation
than contrast....definately much less time consuming than
additional contrast-masks with Ilfochrome.
