Hi,

I sell two different kinds of 5x7 prints. Some are printed by me
archivally and some I have prints made from 35mm slides. I start with a
drum scan edit the image in Photoshop and have it reshot to 35mm slide
(Imagers.com). I have found that the editing of the original 35mm images
can only be enlarged to 5x7 before the pixelization becomes too bothersome.

So far both types of prints have been sold for the same price. The only
way this can be achieved AND still make money is to have mats cut on a
quantity (Florida Frames) and then I assemble them and bag them.

The hand printed prints are all printed on Ilford FB paper and archivally
toned using Selenium.

I think next month I will raise the price on those prints since they are so
much more work to make. I also don't number the prints made from 35mm
slides.

Holly, yes you are grossly undercharging. I live in a very small town
(population in the entire county is 1,500) and my 5x7 sell. We do have a
good amount of tourism here also.

My portrait prices are fixed rates and are based on quantity. Those prints
go very well. I would be happy to share them with you if you are
interested. (you show me yours, I'll show you mine).

best of luck,
bob
