Hi Eckhard,

I wouldn't rule out flare, as that is certainly what it looks like to me. I
suspect the IR from the tree and grass was bright enough to flare into the
centre of the image; the hexagonal shape would certainly seem to mirror the
aperture blades. In the past I have managed to get flare on conventional
film when pointing the camera towards a  very bright object.

That would be my guess.
