Re: Rangefinder
There is an easy and inexpensive way to turn an SLR into a rangefinger
(sort of). I have a old Argus viewfinder which fits into the hot shoe
and adjusts for 35,50 and 100mm lenses. There are many brands of these
available for early cameras which can be picked up for about $10-20
unless they are Leitz. Many of these are adjustable for paralax. Sure
they are not rangefinders but with IR you are usually stopping down
anyway so an estimate focus is adequate. I will often use a 20 or 28mm
lens but if the viewfinder is set at 35 it gives a fair estimate of the
coverage.
