There was a discussion about this just a few weeks ago. Pretty much all of the
most recent EOS cameras have the infrared sensor (I think maybe the original
Rebel was the last that did not). However, it also seems that people get
different results with different bodies, even of the same model. For example,
some people have minor fogging with the A2 while some others have unacceptable
fogging into the image. I guess manufacturing tolerances allow enough
variation in the positioning (or strength?) of the sensor to make it somewhat
unpredictable? The moral is that you will have some fogging but exactly how
much, and whether it is acceptable, must be determined by testing EACH
INDIVIDUAL camera.
I don't remember if anyone has provided specific experience with the 1V.
