Mine will go to my children. I knew two people who gave theirs to
universities, but I don't think that that was a good move. These things are
special to us, so it is realistic to think that others will find them as
valuable. Unfortunately, this is not so. There is now no way to get at the
negatives I mentioned above, as they were "stored" somewhere and at least one I
believe to be lost.
If you give them to your children or other relatives, chances are considerably
better that not only will they better be appreciated, but also not lost and
available.
