Stockpiling HIE.. (a wartime necessity)

Whadda ya mean?

Just because each time I go to B&H or my local shop I pick up 8 rolls of HIE
(whether or not I have a current need for it) and HIE now takes up half of my
freezer space..

Just because I horde it like a 1950's era isolationist might horde canned goods
in his fallout shelter..

That's normal, isn't it..?

OK, it might not be for a regular emulsion... But I don't have to worry that a
regular emulsion will become suddenly unavailable because of production
problems, summer shipping temperatures, etc., or that the emulsion itself will
be canceled on little notice (4x5 fans out there?)..
