Does the Matrox card include sound, or does it rely on the sound card?
I've been looking into getting some kind of capture but the sound
processing concerns me.

Wade

Hi wade,
The matrox captures the audio on the card but stores it separately, on
reading the newsgroups some people have had slight timing errors with the
card but usually it seems to be due to compatibility problems as it works
okay for most folk. You should have a look at the Videoguys website they do
a good head to head shoot out with the DV500 which the DV500 wins by 2
points (damn gave the score away). My older Matrox Rainbow Runner for the
mystique 220 also stored the sound separately but I never had any sync
problems. I still have my RR/Mystique and they work ok in my new(er) system
but you can notice the lack of resolution and a slightly grainy playback.

hope this helps
have a look at http://www.videoguys.com/
Cheers,

Alistair
