I don't know if you're in the US or not, but if you are, you might want
to call Minolta on their 800 # (I don't have it in front of me). From
what I have been told, if you send the camera in for repair, they will
repair it so that it's back to factory specs. The cost is $125 +
shipping. Whether they'd replace the pressure plate or not, I don't
know. It doesn't hurt to ask. They're located in Ramsey NJ.
