I "generally" shoot HIE at EI 250 when metered through a #25 filter. Examples
can be seen on my Web site.
Inconsistencies will be found because not every scene will include the same
amount of infrared radiation. With experience, you will begin to be able to
estimate how far away from your "standard" EI you will need to deviate for the
scene at hand.
Best, at this point, is to bracket your shots. TAKE NOTES of what you are
doing, so that you can later compare your results not only with what you did,
but also what was in the scene.
