I never liked the gradation offered ny HC110. It was probably due to the fact
that it is a very ative developer and requires relatively short development
time. Rodinal is great for golfball sized grain. Whether or not that is a
good thing depends upon your particular style.
I moved to D76 long ago, and more recently to Xtol for developing HIE.
As far as Konica is concerned, Rodinal works very nicely with this film. I use
the 120 size and have found that since I shoot this film more slow than most
folks (usually around EI 8), Rodinal gives me the accutance that makes this
such a special film. I don't know whether or not the developer would work as
well with the 35mm version.
