It is absolutely beautiful.  It is definitely a solarized image, with the
mackie lines very visible along all the edges between light and dark.
     I spent one year in the darkroom, taking 4 x 5 negatives and solarizing
them (sabattiering them would be the correct term), using different amounts
of light and sources.  Because I was doing negs, the resulting mackie lines
would be black on the print, of course, which lent a wonderful graphic
quality to the image.  However, it was so easy to blow an image and waste
the negative with too much base and fog built up.  I had a blast doing it,
tho, because there was always that element of risk involved, and mystery,
not knowing what you would end up with.  One person said they would make a
dupe neg of the image and solarize that, so as not to risk the original.
That probably would have been smarter but not as fun!
