Indeed, I think that if you have only a faint image on your film with a 
recommended development time, there is something more fundamental wrong. 
Either with XTol, either with the exposure of the film. I would recommend to 
make some test exposures, and cut the roll film into two pieces. Develop one 
in Xtol fotr the recommended 12 minutes, develop the other peace in D76, 
ID11 or whatever to check, compare and eleminate problems..
