Sorry, I only have experience with the modern version, assuming you
are indeed talking about the old/chrome Horizont, and not the
modern/black Horizon 202 (since 1990).
Never seen notes about repair/dismantling the old one either, sorry.

Btw, if you are interested, I have new 202's for sale, US$325, and
can also provide you with custom made IR-filters (compatible with
the old Horizont btw)....and currently I even have a few high-speed
models available (1/500s instead of 1/250s), for US$450.
Mail me privately if you are interested.

And as Marco wrote, there is a Panorama Mailinglist available too;
and as a general list-pointer see canned message below:

Check my homepage for the link to the PhotoForum site,
where you can find a large overview of photo related mailinglists:

http://www.a1.nl/phomepag/markerink/mainpage.htm

This PhotoForum site also offers a nifty 'mailto:' -form for direct
s_ubscription, and more important: with the same ease for
uns_ubscribing....the fastest way to uns_ubscribe a dozen of lists
shortly before going on holiday....any other method is tedious at
best.
Store that URL, and you'll never be searching for either command or
list-address related to any list....it's all on one page.

Further down my homepage you will also find links to general
overviews of mailinglists (more than just photo-related).

Also on the above URL is a full list of photo related newsgroups
on Usenet.
