Hey, I'm not pulling this out of thin air; it is on the Konica Technical
Data Sheet PDF file I downloaded from the internet: "Konica Infrared 750
film has a wavelength sensitivity range of 640 nm to 820nm in addition to
the intrinsic sensitivity of the silver bromide of 400-500nm." On the chart
it does not show sensitivity from about 510-640. Now whether they printed
an incomplete chart which is possible, chopping off the bottom of it so
there is no continuous line connecting the two humps (hows that for a
scientific description?) or whether it is truly blind and not just _less
sensitive_, is something you guys can answer for me. I know in Paduano's
book he says Konica is "blind to blue/green light" (p. 12) which has got to
be a typo because it obviously is not blind to blue light. But all of the
books agree it is blind to green light, and spectrally it seems from the
wavelengths Konica doesn't respond to that it is yellow and green-blind
(500-600nm).Kodak is only less sensitive to green light-it dips in that
region a bit-but not blind according to Kodak's pdf file. Now, if it were
truly blind to green light I would think that all trees would expose black,
wouldn't they? So you must have a point, David. Hmmm, more myths to
ponder....you know what? I'll email Konica and see if they'll answer this
question.
