Did you use the Forte elegance RC or fiber? The RC is way thin, and I would
not use it except for knock off stuff that I didn't care much about. It
feels totally single weight to me. Now, the Forte elegance Warmtone Fiber
stuff is incredible. IT is very thick; whereas the Agfa MCC 118 was a great
paper to color and such, it always either wrinkled or peeled or got marred
somehow in the whole process. The Forte has yet to do that for me, but
perhaps you got single weight?? I just developed it in D-76, which results
in a warm tone but not totally as warm as it can be. It has incredible
detail in both highlights and darks. I also (semi matte) have been
handcoloring it all week and it grabs paint just fine even tho it has a bit
of a gloss. Oh, no, I didn't tone it, haven't felt a need to yet. In the
past I have selenium toned my stuff but felt that it didn't make much
difference with the handcoloring I do. That will probably change, because
I am on a new wavelength with hand coloring with leaving part of the image
uncolored, so will try different effects.
OH, I know what you might have done; I am using the Polywarmtone Plus
Elegance FB that is museum weight; BandH lists it as HW. Maybe you bought
LW or even the Polygrade V Elegance FB? Mine is in the gold package. The
Polygrade V Elegance FB is a neutral tone; the one I use is warm,
brown/black to chocolate brown tones with dif developers it says.
Chris (I hope this answered your on and off list questions)
