I have done this with a Mamiya 645, by installing a Kodak Wratten #72 opaque 
IR filter on one of my film backs.  The same concept works on most SLR's.  I 
ordered the 4" filter, for 35mm you could probably use the 3" filter which is 
cheaper.  Carefully mark and cut the filter to the size you need to cover the 
shutter opening on your camera. I use regular scotch tape and carefully, 
securely tape the filter in place, then use an exacto knife to trim the tape..
