But, you see, you are using this useless "feature" as a reason for using a
plugin that flies in the face of usability. If your images require this kind
of manipulation, then it would make sense. As they do not, it is a non-issue.

You see, however, this is exactly the problem. You are not supplying even
minimal thumbnails to your images, so you are asking me to take several steps
out of my way so that I can possibly see some images that may not even interest
me.
The use of technology for the sake of that technology pretty much never makes
sense. Your purpose is to share your work with the world. However, you have
established barriers (specific plug-ins, a high-resolution monitor, a lack of
thumbnails, etc.) that are keeping only the persistent people from seeing what
you have to offer. Believe me, the vast majority will not bother and will move
on to another site, never having bothered to deal with what you have done.
I would recommend a simplicity of design, the ability of an individual with a
56k modem, and a Netscape or IE browser of either of the two most recent
versions, to be able to see what you have to offer within 10 seconds. Studies
(again, I reference http://www.useit.com/) show that after that amount of time
people will begin to bail. It would be a shame to keep yourself from being
able to offer your own work.
