In our "Digital Photography & Multimedia Applications Lessons" at
university, we learned that tiff files are the most valuable file types to
store your images. Thats because they have no loss, they can be compressed
with LZW type and still no loss, and they  let the images open to later
modifications. The bad side of tiff files is their file size, but if you use
LZW compressin, and your images have some plain (same color) areas you cant
believe the file size.
