[MF 3D] MF viewer lighting

If any of you read P3D you'll have
seen that I was into the LED lighting
discussion big time. I've never seen
a white LED in the flesh but I'm willing
to believe Tom Hubin (for now) that a
single LED could be used with condensor
optics to light a 35mm film chip (so 2
LEDs per side for stereo).

For medium format I think the condensors
would get too big and too deep to
reasonably be used. Unless you don't
mind a Daniel Greenhouse giant sized
viewer.

So has anyone else played with the
cold cathod fluorescent tubes we discussed
about a month ago (available from
DigiKey). Any colour comparisons to
white LEDs or 5000Kelvin light panels.

Has anyone chopped up a bargain
Logan light panel from Paul? Or
a Cabin etc?
