Hi folks! I just wanted to say 'hello' and to (hopefully) absorb as much
information as I possibly can
about the use of MF stereophotography. I have been shooting for several
years with paired Olympus OM4
cameras with neat results. However, I cannot ignore the quality and
possibilities with the MF cameras. I opted to go with the Hasselblad 503ELM
systems (currently in the process of paying for them -Ouch!). I liked the
autoadvance features with there built in motordrives and thus allowing them
to literally be mounted side by side on a bracket attached to a Bogen Tripod
and a large commercial tripod with a Bogen Head.
Why MF? -I flipped when I purchased a 1890's Rotary Slide viewer with the
glass plate slides (european format roughly close to 3 x 6.5 inches) and was
stunned at the life-like qualities -even though they were over 100 years
old! Ever since, I began to be drawn to the richer images that MF photos
deliver. My hope is to shoot color slide film and then to duplicate them
into 3.5 x 7.0 slide pairs OR Cibrachrome stereo prints.
Ultimately, I would like to sell reproduction antique rotary viewers with
sets of color historical views of the Gold Country, Yosemite, and Tahoe (all
in Californai where I reside). For those interested, I also buy and sell
antique stereoviews via ebay and have been busy there for a year and a half.
My ID there is: GCSPHOTO@xxxxxxxxxxxxx
I am very interested in any technical aspects, tips, recommendations (Films,
Lenses, differences 35mm vs MF, etc) I can be reached at:
