Hello all,
Thought I'd put my two cents worth in.
I have been involved in 3D photography since 1985 when a friend brought a
Stereo Realist to a party at our home. Borrowed his camera for a car show
the next day. The results were spectacular, have been hooked ever since.
Found my first Kodak Stereo Camera and Stereo Vivid viewer at a car
show/swap meet. I now have drawers full of Stereo cameras. My preferred
Realist format camera is the Colorist II using Kodachrome 25. Typically
shoot 20 rolls per two week vacation. Use Kodak (not so) Premium processing
and mounting. I straighten out the screwups.
I use a Nimslo with home made underwater housing for snorkeling.
I shoot Cha Cha mode with a Minolta SRT202. I only take Hyper Stereo using
this method. They are mounted in the full frame 2x2 (no longer available)
mounts that also fit the rear of the TDC116 projector. A decent viewer for
those mounts is not available so have decided to make one. Bought a milling
machine, some blocks of aluminum and delrin, and an assortment of achromatic
lenses from the surplus shed, and 48 pitch gears and racks from Pic-Design.
Searching for viewer designs I discovered the MF viewer site. The Kiewa
viewer had actual dimensions to use as a starting point. Plan to use a
design that is a mix of that viewer and the Interocular of the Stereo Vivid
viewer.
Bought a Kings Inn MF viewer because it had an insert for viewing 2x2 (not
enough magnification). This is where I first saw a MF slide. As a condition
of buying the viewer I now have one MF slide. Very impressive!
My interest in this group is to learn MF from others experiences, which
cameras to get, and share where I can. My first interest in MF would be
Hyper Stereo.
For me, ideas, opinions and criticisms are always welcome.
