Exactly!  The Realist might be a better camera generally, but that 
big hunk of film the Spud uses means less magnification, and that 
translates into increased sharpness and detail.

My KZ750 motorcycle used to beat Corvettes routinely off the line, 
every time.  I'd pull up to a light beside one, rev up my engine, and 
when he stomped it, I'd pull away easily.  Unfair comparison?  You 
bet!  But I still beat em.  :^)
