I didn't see anyone answer this, and I'm just now getting
caught up on digest reading after a trip to Minnesota.

The RMM mounts were sized to match the King Inn mounts'
80x132 outside dimensions. Even though slightly larger 
would have been nice for more options (such as something
closer to 6x7 than is possible with the 132mm width), 
the thought was that, lacking any standard size, at least 
it made sense to match the most popular size available.
