[MF3D.FORUM:1011] More on Ekeren MF viewer

I've uploaded a picture of the Ekeren MF viewer. It's
at http://www.rmm3d.com/viewers/ekeren_mf.jpg
Someone mentioned to me off-list that it did not sound
like a good viewer. That's not the message I meant to
put out. It's a good viewer that would be an excellent
viewer if it had lenses as good or better than the lenses
used in the either version of Alan's SaturnSlide(tm) viewer.
Personally I admire the engineering of the Ekeren viewer
(but not the lenses). Aesthetically, however, "modern"
and "plastic" are not my thing, so I would sooner choose
to "show off" the mahogany SaturnSlide. I also understand,
though, that some people prefer the more modern, industrial
appearance of the Ekeren viewer. Soon we'll all have more
choices in MF viewers, and that can only be a good thing,
I would say.
If you choose your viewer based first on optical performance,
as I know many on this list do, and you work in something
larger than 645 format, I don't think you would choose the
current edition of the Ekeren viewer. I say current edition,
because I still hope to convince Jacob to upgrade to better
optics before moving beyond the prototype stage with his
viewer.
Robert, feel free to grab the picture for inclusion in
your MF viewer gallery.
