My Yashicamat 124G wouldn't sit flat on the Bogen hex shaped quick
release plate (the one used with the 3047 head), two feet on, two off.
I bought a spare plate and used my Dremel to ground down two corners
of the plate so the camera wold sit flat, and as a bonus it won't
rotate.

I've since switched to a 410 head (the mini gear head, lighter and
more precise) with a sliding quick release plate that I don't intend
to take off. My Yashicamat is out for repairs so I don't know if it
will sit flat on this plate.

I've managed to accumulate a wide variety of different Bogen quick
release plates. I wish the would pick one and stick with it.
