Indeed it is! For those who are interested in something like
this, but want to avoid re-inventing the wheel, stay tuned for
forthcoming news. Alan Lewis has been feverishly hacking away
in his workshop since receiving my Logan light panel early this
past week. So far he has produced: three versions of a stand to
use with the SaturnSlide and Logan light pad (without chopping up
the light pad), and a mahogany add-on light box using a hacked-up
Logan light pad. Next up will be a mahogany add-on light box
using the JKL components from DigiKey. Alan will be able to
offer
a comparison of the cost and relative ease of making the light
box attachment from the ground up versus hacking an existing
panel.
I realize that some of you enjoy re-inventing the wheel, and some
of you will intentionally choose the *harder* method just for the
fun of it! :-) Nevertheless, if your needs are not extremely
pressing, watch here for the results of Alan's evaluation, which
should help you make the best choice for your circumstances!
And remember, I'm beating B&H on pricing for the Logan! :-)
