Don't know that I got any good enough to help a lot,
but take a look at:

Note when looking at #1 that it seems the diagram that is
visible when looking through the lens on the left side of
the finder appears to actually be located on the right side
of the finder.

I was wrong about a circle being in the center; it's just the
intersection of the horizontal and vertical middle lines.
