If you haven't seen a Sputnik then you wouldn't get my little joke.  The
sports finder is just the opening created when you flip down the front
piece of the viewfinder hood.  No glass involved.  You peer through it
and get the rough frame.  I find it entirely adequate and never use the
waistfinder.  I focus by estimating the distance to the subject and
setting the lenses with the scale.

Some TLRs have the same sports finder arrangement.
