Hi

I'd like to make the group aware of a technology which might enhance our
e-mail experience. But let me first digress to give you some contextual
background.

Sometimes when I am away or very busy I find all this e-mail too cumbersome
and time consuming to go through and it clutters my e-mail. Also, some
topics are interesting to me others specifically not.

I am also in a group of professional photographers who had this same problem
with our e-mail. One of us found a web e-mail technology that very nicely
solves the problem. It is at:
http://www.eGroups.com/

It allows you to set up an e-mail group like ours but it allows each
participant to elect to get his e-mail as it is sent (like we get now) or to
elect to go to the web site and read the e-mail stored there. It can be read
by topic, or by sender. You can ask for daily, weekly or monthly summaries
which give you the subject line of each email and a number for it (which you
can access directly). You can get the entire e-mail's sent to you, contained
in one file, daily, weekly or monthly - or again, you can just get them as
they come in - just like you do now. You can select and de select these
options as you wish. The price is free and you only have to put up with a
few banner advertisements which I find I can completely ignore. It can also
be confidential and by invitation only like our photographer group - but the
security does not add extra time or complexity.

Anyway - it's a thought and I think it's worth looking into if any of you
have the same problem I have with coming back to tons of e-mail when you are
away, or having to face all those e-mail's when you are very busy.

All of us in the professional photographers love it. (And by the way - no I
don't have any financial interests or connection with this service.)

Check it out. kk
