Yes, it's just a contact printer. It's no big deal. Looks like any
contact printer from the era, except that is has two little square
windows. You could duplicate the effect yourself with any old contact
printer and some polyester masking tape.
The instructions state that you can print each side individually,
repositioning the films to set the stereo window. Or you can print both
halves at once, then cut them apart and mount them on cardboard.
I might play with this if it made standard stereocards, but they are much
smaller than the current standard. (Well, actually, not even then. I like
slides.)
The printer and viewer are really well made, considering. Better than the
camera itself, I think. For me, they are curiosities for display only.
