It was definitely better than the usual V-M 
viewer and I think also a bit better than 
their high magnification viewer.  It looked 
like the eyelens was an achromat.  Probably 
not for color correction, though, since I 
think the screens put out a fairly limited 
band of wavelengths.

This one said on it "Varo Optical, Chicago"  
It looked pretty old.  The tube looked like 
one of those RCA 1P25s or whatever they were.  
Varo equivalent of the RCA of course.  Maybe 
it's smaller than the RCA tube.  Definitely a 
high voltage tube, though.
