About My Puckettscope Mark VII

I was asked about my lighted slide viewer. I modeled it after
Sam's MF3D viewer kit. I used the handy lenses-in-holders that I
got from him and a plastic card box. It looks just like his in
the MF3D viewer gallery except mine has a tan body. No new
designs, therefore, from me yet. I rested it against a metal
bookend propped up at a 60-degree angle (from the table top) so
that the diffuser end sat on a pair of battery-operated
fluorescent tube lights. This made it also easier to view,
pack, and transport. If I keep this arrangement I will use a
little Velcro or magnetic tape for stabilizing and easy adjusting.
The slides go in matching plastic card boxes - to add an element
of refined modern elegance <g>. Wifey approves (a very good sign
for me and my hobby).
Naturally I'm not yet satisfied and want to fiddle with this
arrangement a bit. I also want to change the some of the pieces
inside the viewer - some day ;-)
The pieces binding the 2 halves together is made from large white
cable ties with some propping pieces also made from cable tie. The
inside pieces are made from corrugated black plastic craft project
board with some black silicone glue. I sprayed the inside of the
front compartment with flat black paint.
Time spent: Hours of fiddling, more than I expected. It could
have taken me less than 4 hours if I knew what I
was doing! Ah well, the *next* one will go much
faster.
