Here's my thoughts.
You have to compete against $250-$300
Sputniks. So you either need to be cheaper
than that or have a better camera (=better
shutter and lenses IMO). Otherwise you
limit your market to people who want
"new" or like wooden bodied (I assume)
cameras.
So, what's the pricepoint?
So, I'll say that personally I'd be
interested in a better-than-Spud camera.
Based on Mamiya TLR lenses probably because
they are readily available, good and have
good shutters.
It might also be possible to have inter-
changable lens panels to allow other FL's
to be used (Mamiya TLR lenses again).
A sportfinder deal would be okay with
me, though a 3LR would be nicer. A rangefinder
from those Polaroid cameras could be
an option.
A price of $500-$600 US would be nice.
For a 3LR with interchangable lenses a
price of up to $999 would seem okay to
me. IE if I didn't have my Stereo 225 almost
finished I'd scrap up $1000 to buy an Alan
Lewis 3LR with 80mm f2.8 lenses.
