>Tom - Give us more on your Siamesed Lubitels!

I will put pictures on the web in the next few days. In a nutshell, this
is what I did:

1. The lenses and viewers were removed.

2. I cut off the film winder on the left camera.

3. I cut off the spool release button on the right camera.

4. I Dremeled flat everything else on the facing sides.

5. I epoxied the cameras together, side by side

6. I added bolts for greater strength

7. I designed this cool little key that links right spool to left.

8. I twinned the doors with some brass strips, screws and epoxy

9. I disassembled the shutters

10. I took out the timers on each. (in the way of the linkage.)

11. I removed all the shutter mechanism parts of the left camera.

12. I created a brass link that joins the two shutters.

That's as far as I have gotten so far. I started Sunday afternoon, and I
worked a couple hours Monday and Tuesday night. I still need to reinstall
the shutters and lenses, calibrate for the new shutter speeds, and
reinstall the viewers. I'll try to finish it this evening.

The cheap plastic is very easy to work, and the MF geometry is simpler than
35mm. This is my best project so far.

I will display it at the 3D Fiesta in Manhattan on Friday. We get together
and talk stereo over a nice meal. Write me if you want to attend.

Cheers,

Tom
