  The cameramakers list is a majordomo
driven one and I recall someone testing
whether they could post after unsubscribing.
They could.

  The reason was to use the web page archives
to keep up to date on discussions (without
getting a bunch of email) and still be able
to ask a question now and again.

  So it seems the majordomo software has a
bug/feature.
