As I am only capable of non-technical explanations, I'll just comment
that Adams, other f/64 members, and many large format photographers will
routinely tell you that to get the maximum "sharpness" (whatever they
meant by that) in the final print, you use the biggest tripod you can
with the smallest f/stop.

My gut tells me that with the relatively long FLs we use in MF (and he
used in LF) the resolution fuzziness is small compared to the CsoC from
larger f/stops.
