I'd also just kick in that the lenses on a lot of these folders were
triplets and front cell focusers to boot. Many of the one's I've seen
for 30ish bucks are prewar cameras with uncoated glass as well...

I think Stephen's idea of finding a couple of post war 101 mm f/4.7
Ektars (originally made for 23 Graphics, tessar-types) is a good one.
We've kicked this topic around the list before, and I think these seem
to be the glass of choice for around $50 each. Shutters on these go up
to about 1/400th, are synched for flash and seem reliable. At these FLs,
however, some provision would need to be made for fucusing...
