Taking photos

With the folios coming around to me soon
I forced myself to take some photos today
(I didn't have to push too hard).

This week was the Saskatoon Jazz festival
so I decided to try the Sputnik as a people
camera and try out my free E100SW (thanks
Eric) at the same time. The 100 speed vs my
normal 50 speed velvia should help with DOF
in the shots, making focusing a little less
critical. Plus musicians on stage don't move
around as much as a 3.5 year old (Emily) so
focusing and framing the shot should be
easier.

I shot off the whole roll (6 photos) and
think I got some good photos. A cool photo
of a guitar playing busker who posed for
me (I hope) should be great. I asked permission
to photograph him, took the photo, then listened
to him play for a while and then gave him a $2
coin. So I think we both got a good deal :)

Another good thing about shooting performers
(photographically speaking) is that they
are used to people standing and looking at
them and taking pictures. Easier for us
non-street-photographer-types than taking
street photos of ordinary people.

If I get something good, or even just
a learning experience photo, you'll see it
in the folio.
